Formal Fabrics Ltd. USA was established in 1947, by 2 returning WWII vets, as a converter of novelty fabrics, laces and trims. Business thrived in the post war economy.
In 1972 Philip Rawdon became president of Formal Fabrics and changed the course of its current operation. His idea of expanding into Mexico, Central and South America with a more stylized collection of fabrics and laces made an enormous impact on this very specialized market.
In 1983 Mr. Rawdon's daughter Christina joined the company and had an immediate impact on his business. Her main focus was direct selling as well as styling special collections and products for some of the top fashion houses and fabric wholesalers in Milan, Paris, London, Lisbon and Madrid.
To support this global expansion, in addition to warehousing in New York, a facility in Hong Kong was added. This has been a tremendous benefit to our customers in servicing their orders.
Formal Fabrics is proud of these accomplishments and are constantly striving to service different markets and offer the latest trends in fashion.
